The beginnings:

Hi. I am a Software Engineer with 10 years of experience developing applications. At the end of 2009 I wanted to build a website, but didnt know what kind of site to work on. I considered and rejected many ideas until I thought back to my own personal experiences using and looking at dating sites. All the pay sites "looked" slick, but I was cautious about spending too much money. And besides, why should you have to pay to use a dating site? Almost every other type of social networking service is free, so why should a dating site cost money? Many of the other free sites looked phony or confusing, or they were just plain lying about being 100% free.

The results:

I think the result of my efforts is perhaps the easiest to use dating site on the web today. There are no "one-off" features such as instant messaging, blogs, forums, or rating of images. In addition, the design and navigation are intentionally simple so as not to confuse you. So why not give it a chance? Its 100% free and you can quit any time no questions asked.

• Other sites require you to pay a monthly fee.
• Other sites let you join for free but then require you to pay to do anything else.
• Other sites provide only limited methods for filtering out unwanted responses.
• Other sites send you lots of e-mail with matches and promotions.
• Other sites allow your profile and images to be found and indexed by internet search engines.
• Other sites bloat their site with too many features that dont really help.
• Other sites create pages that are either poorly designed, or too fancy and slow to load.
• Other sites only allow you to do a few searches before requiring you to become a member.
• Other sites have few or no means to detect and remove malicious users or scammers.
• Other sites make it difficult or confusing to delete your membership.
• Other sites leave your profile around even after you delete it.
• Other sites blatantly lie and deceive you by creating fake profiles and messages.
